Waterline
Contribution margin officer. Waterline owns true contribution margin per SKU per channel, after every deduction, and the alert that fires before a product quietly starts losing money.

Who it displaces
An e-commerce financial analyst, about $90,000 in salary and about $120,000 fully loaded. Waterline takes the weekly rebuild of margin by SKU and channel, the settlement reconciliation nobody wants to do, and the return, discount and ad-spend arithmetic that revenue reports hide.
Waterline is $20, less than that analyst costs per hour, and priced so you do not have to think about it.
What is in the box
Skills
Six skills.
/margin-buildWhat a SKU, a channel or the whole catalogue actually earns. It refuses to run on a period whose reconciliation has not passed, or on one still inside its settlement lag, because Shopify Payments and Stripe post fees after the sale and a young period reads as more profitable than it is./margin-reconcileRuns before any margin number is published. This is the skill that decides whether Waterline is allowed to speak. Shopify, the payment processor, QuickBooks and the carrier each hold a different, defensible, incompatible version of the same week, and picking a favourite is how finance bots lose trust in month three./return-dragThe cost of returns, which is not the return rate. The rate is a frequency. The cost depends on weight, on who paid the label, and on whether the unit could be sold again./ad-allocateBlended ROAS hides which SKUs paid for which sale. This skill makes the allocation method visible and says out loud when the conclusion depends on it./discount-auditCodes, automatic discounts and site-wide sales, with the same arithmetic. A discount is a price change with a shorter memory./price-floorReturns a floor and a recommendation when landed cost rises or a SKU breaches its margin floor. Never returns a price change. A human makes that call every time.
Routines
Five routines. Times are in the time zone you set.
| Routine | Cadence |
|---|---|
| Weekly contribution brief | Every Monday at 07:30 |
| Settlement reconciliation guard | Every day at 06:15, including weekends |
| Return drag sweep | Every Wednesday at 09:00 |
| Promotion post-mortem | The 2nd and the 17th of each month at 10:00 |
| Cost pass-through check | The 4th of each month at 08:00 |
Connectors

Deliberately absent: the ad platforms. Meta, Google, TikTok and Amazon Ads have no first-party Grok Bot plugin, so ad spend arrives as a CSV you maintain in the registry. SETUP.md says this out loud rather than implying an integration that does not exist.
Standalone by design
Waterline publishes no contract file, consumes none, and reads no other bot's directory, because its buyer is an e-commerce operator and the other four bots serve invoice-and-engagement businesses. Install it alone and it loses nothing.
What it never does
Waterline never changes a price, never edits a product, never contacts a customer or a vendor, never spends, and never signs. It publishes no margin number for a period whose reconciliation has not passed. Every recommendation goes to a named human, and every consequential action needs that human's approval for the exact action and scope it was given.
